Asheville Urological Associates is pleased to announce the addition of a new physician. We welcome Urologist Michael B. Burris, M.D. Dr. Burris joins Asheville Urological Associates following the completion of his urology residency at the University of Virginia, where he served as the Chief Urology Resident.
Dr. Burris earned his bachelor's degree from N.C. State University and his medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. He then completed his residency in urology at the University of Virginia. Dr. Burris' special interests include the diagnosis and treatment of genitourinary cancers, robotic/laparoscopic surgery, hypogonadism (low T), infertility including vasectomy and vasectomy reversals, treatment and prevention of kidney stones, and management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Dr. Burris is a member of the American Urological Association (AUA), a premier clinical association committed to promoting the highest standards of urological care through education, research and advocacy.
Dr. Burris and his wife, Katie, are both native North Carolinians who are very excited to call this wonderful state their home again. They have two young children and are delighted about raising them in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. In his spare time, Dr. Burris enjoys spending time with family, golf, hiking and running.
